Many bikers and potential bikers are curious about these odd looking three wheeled motorcycle choppers which are often referred to as three wheelers or trikes. Trikes obviously offer a multitude of advantages of two wheeled motorcycles.
Trikes obviously have the capacity to be built to easily, safely, and comfortably carry cargo and passengers. Trikes can easily be built to carry not just one passenger comfortably but even two passengers. Two wheelers are uncomfortable to carry even one passenger and said passenger generally being a female is not at all happy with the situation.
Passengers seating on two wheelers is difficult uncomfortable and even dangerous. While the seating on a bike is not comfortable, it also can have the passenger burning their ankle on the tail pipe and getting materiel caught in the chain or belt. The passengers and their close get grease and oil on them and chicks do not dig this. Yes, people dig bikes but they are inevitably unhappy with their side effects. Also the passengers behavior and movement on a bike can de-stablize the bike and cause the potential for accidents.
It is very easy to fall, spill, or get knocked down on a bike because it is defying gravity to stay up. Many bikers have even fallen over at stoplights when they forget to put their feet down. It's embarassing but it happens often. Sand, gravel, wet pavement, shifting passengers, etc. contribute to the ease of going down on a two wheeler. It nearly goes without saying that in any contact with a vehicle, object, animal, etc. you will be going down and you may not get up...ever.
Trikes (three wheelers) are motorcycle choppers that offer the fun and excitement of biking but with an infinitely better degree of safety and comfort, and convenience. Carrying passengers and cargo can be very easy on a trike and it is much more difficult to go down. In fact, if you are riding a trike with independent rear suspension such as a VW it is nearly impossible to roll. Honda and Harley motorcycle conversions with solid rear axles are no where near as safe as a VW trike or other trike with independent rear suspension.
Your passenger will be much more comfortable and happy with a trike than a bike and so will you.
